I couldn’t have been happier to be contacted by the lovely ladies over at BumpPr about starting some Rhythm time classes for a review. We had just been thinking about starting some new classes as Bodies routine has changed enough for us to fit things in in the morning. Luckily for us too, rhythm time is held at a scout hut about 5 minutes walk from our house, so it was perfect!
I spoke to Francis who runs Rhythm time Cheshire (very lovely lady over the phone) and she arranged for us to attend the 10.10am class which was perfect for Bodies age. We also got a super little package in the post which contained the rhythm time CD and some super new musical instruments, which Bodie has loved playing with around the house. Unfortunately we couldn’t start the first week as Bo had the chicken pox, but we have now done three of our six weeks and loved it!
I’ve always loved a signing class, with Betsie we did Jo jingles and Tiny talk which were both great, but I don’t recall knowing or hearing anything about the rhythm time classes until a couple of years after when my nephew started to attend. My sister in law always said how much he loved the classes so it was something I was definitely going to keep an eye out for when Bo was old enough. And just like that timings worked out perfectly and we are now thoroughly enjoying our classes.
Bo was a little shy at first, so sat happily with me and watched the first 15minutes, but he then started to get the gist of what was going on and got stuck in. He loves all the different instruments and tapping on the floor with the sticks. I think his favourite is the lollipop drum (which are all available to buy, possibly going on the christmas list) as his little face lights up when he gets it. I can’t wait to see him develop more and more in the class, he’s really getting used to whats coming and what he’s meant to do!
Lisa who runs the class is absolutely FANTASTIC! She has so much enthusiasm, really engaging the children in her songs and actions and you can tell they love her. From the get go I knew she was my type of person, perfect for the role of running a rhythm time class and the nicest thing is you can tell she loves it too!
The last week before half term, so week three, we’ve had yellow week as it’s Rhythm times birthday! It was a brilliant class and the children loved Lisa’s crazy wig and glasses, well all but one who got a little scared! She looked fab and as always put on a super class with lots of lovely songs and dancing! Lots of people wore yellow, so we had a super bright last class before half term!
