If you’re anything like me, you like a good nosy in peoples houses. So I thought I would start with the most recently redecorated…
I love his room, it’s so warm and cosy and perfect for a little boy. Yes there’s still lots of things to add, I love tinkering and putting shelves up etc..if you’ve seen Betsies room you’ll know this, but the space and what we’ve started with is just lovely.
I have designed and popped up a couple of quick drawings which I’d sat and done in an evening, some of them need updating as I now have new pens, but they look really cute for now. I’ve used simple Ikea photo frames which were super cheap (about 80p each) And since taking some of these photos where they were up on the shelves I have now popped them up on the wall.
His special ‘Little Prince’ book was a present from when he was born and the colour of the book works so well with his wall colour, so it couldn’t sit along with the other books, it had to stand proudly on display. It’s also a really sweet story, but not one for a good few years. A read for Mummy at some point I hope.
His book collection is basically Betsies old book collection, and just like Bets his favourite book so far is the Eric Carle touch and feel play book. It’s a great book, full of so many different animals, objects, shapes and colours. It’s also a super one for us because it’s brilliant to practice our signs and teach Bodie. He’s so far done ‘Lion’ as he loves feeling the mane which is all furry.
Im not too sure if you can see but he has three beautiful blue frames on his wall near his bed. The top one is a paper cut from the very talented Clare Waterfall-Hallam, her paper cuts are just immense and after having a go at it myself, I have so much respect for the womans skills! The middle one is his little 6 week old hand and foot. We were given this a present when he was born, just like Bets had when she was 6 months old. And the bottom one is by ME…it’s all his cards from when he was born made into a keepsake (just a little extra thing I do)
I’ve still got lots of room on his bottom shelf, but I know in time this will fill up. For now I bought a handy little basket to pop a few extra teddies in. The rest of the are neatly placed at the end of his bed. Which is the comfiest looking place ever!! We have bought the big Sleepyhead, purely because he loved his little one so much, and this one is no different. As soon as he gets in it, he gets into his comfy position, which is his bum touching one side and his head touching the other side. He’s just recently started sleeping on his side, and just looks so happy and peaceful there. It also stops him from climbing up the sides of the cot, which I totally know he would do, because he is such a monkey!
The other little bits are things we have always had and things that are new to Bodie. I couldn’t resist buying a little picture of him from 2 weeks old and popping it on a canvas. Bets has some really sweet pictures on her wall from when she was tiny, so I felt Bodes needed one too as she loves looking at them now.
He’s got his light box and cloud light which were given to us and now look ace on the shelves. They really help frame and set up the other parts of his room.
Still things to do, but we love it so far and I have an awesome wall sticker waiting in my Not on the high street basket! It’s the same as Betsies, but in the colours that match his room.
Keep your eyes peeled for more little corners of our house!
