Well Miss Hughes you are finally four years old, after a good old count down to your birthday, in true Mummy style, we waited months and months for it to come and it did not disappoint! You had a wonderful day in school celebrating with all your friends and then a special birthday tea out with family, and then the weekend came and you had your party and I think it’s safe to say you had THE best day EVER!
We did our usual pre birthday prep, so for you this included baking fairy cakes for all your friends at school. It’s a little tradition (almost) that the birthday girl brings something in for everyone in the class…slightly crazy I know but you can’t be that one parent that doesn’t can you!? So we spent wednesday night baking and decorating cakes, which you loved of course. Then once you had gone to bed we wrapped all your presents, hung your banners and balloons and got everything ready for the morning.
As a girl who loves birthdays and being made to feel special, I was so happy that I got to do it all for you this year and for you to fully appreciate it. Your little face lit up when you opened the door into the lounge and saw everything waiting for you. You opened a few presents whilst we had breakfast, so you could chat about what you got when you got to school. Everyone was waiting for you in the classroom, and gave you lots of birthday love when we went in. It was so cute! The girls at school really love you!
You had a wonderful day and after school we went for an early tea with Daddy, Bodie, Nain and Taid, Aunty Jess, Sebby and Leo. We decided to go the Alchemist and ordered you a special birthday cocktail called a Mr Freeze, you thought it was ace, but didn’t actually drink any of it! haha You got even more presents at the restaurant and then Nainy and Taidy came back to our house to celebrate a little bit more with you. I love seeing you so happy and full of excitement, it really is one of the best things to watch! You managed to fall asleep that night quite easily after all the excitement of the day and then Hen and Pops would be home the next day.
We went over to Hens the following morning and you got even MORE presents, which is just crazy! You loved lying in bed playing with Pops with your spinning fairy and discussing everything else you had got and all the preparations for your party.
So Sunday was party day and everyone was very excited. Mummy wasn’t feeling too stressed because the whole ‘party’ part was being organised by Party Bliss UK, so all I needed to think about was the food and the balloons. We got everyone roped into helping transform the tennis club, and boy was it transformed! By the time all your friends arrived it was a beautiful princess palace, with dresses to dress up in, crowns to decorate and a face painter to paint beautiful flowers on your faces! Pretty much all the girls in your class came and the party was an absolute dream, I actually couldn’t believe how amazing it was! You played some super games, won prizes, you danced and sung your little hearts out, enjoyed story time with crazy puppets and tucked into a super party feast! It was such an amazing day and by the look on your face all day you just had THE best time ever! (parents if you’re looking for a party host I would highly highly recommend party bliss- Louise and Ciara were AMAZING)
We finished the evening off opening all your presents from your friends, and boy did you get some amazing things. You are one very very lucky little girl!
The last year you have grown up so so much, maybe it’s down to begin at school and becoming a big sister and a very very good one at that, but we just can’t believe how amazing you are! Tonight we attended your first parents evening (so funny) and we were absolutely blown away with the feedback Mrs barber gave us about you and how you are in school. We know you are a loving, caring beautiful little girl, but to hear someone else say it and compliment you in the way she did was just so lovely. Daddy wanted to cry! ha Not only did she that you were all those lovely things, but she told us how bright and clever you are. You are nearly on par with the children in reception! The way you understand things and absorb them so quickly is amazing. For example, they would expect someone of your age to be able to start recognising letters and beginning to spell their own name, but you little miss can spell your own name, Mummy, Daddy, Bodie, Hen, Popsi, Nain and Taid without being told anything, you can also write all those names in lower case letters pretty much without help, you know every letter in the alphabet and are learning more and more words everyday! You constantly question us about how to spell certain words and clearly you are soaking it all in and working it all out. You have also recently started doing adding and subtracting at school, and you are bringing this home too, which we love as it shows how interested in learning you are. Everyday is something new, new questions about the world and how it all works. You are going to be such a brain box little one, you really are.
Along with all the amazing academic stuff you are also so athletic! You have been selected to attend a pre comp gymnastics group now because you are showing so much potential, and although I don’t want to push you into anything too early, you actually love gymnastics and the fact that you are so good at it! I can’t wait to see you improve further and further! You still swim like a fish too, and your skills in the pool are getting better and better. We have now started to introduce a little bit of stroke work, although when we go it’s normally to have a play so I do need to try and get you into lesson mode sometimes. Luckily for me, your play is learning new stuff instead of just jumping in. We just need a good two week holiday somewhere where you can just be in the pool everyday all day now! You’d soon be swimming front crawl!
There is never a dull moment, you are so full of life and energy and we wouldn’t have it any other way! You are amazing baby girl and we Love you so much!! Cant quite believe you will be starting ACTUAL school this year!!!
