I think it’s safe to say we’ve just had our fastest ever month…it’s flown by and all of a sudden your 7 months old!!
Christmas was amazing and although you’re too young to understand whats going, you throughly enjoyed lots of family time and ripping up a bit of wrapping paper…plus receiving loads of new toys that are yours and not your sisters old ones (not that there’s anything wrong with them) Ha
We spent lots of time visiting family throughout December and it was so lovely to spend so much time with everyone. We kept ourselves very very busy as always. I have mentioned in our Christmas post about all the crazy, lovely things we got up to. But here are some lovely photos of you enjoying life.
You’ve really come on over the last month, with lots of new things happening in terms of your milestones…
Sitting has been completely nailed and I don’t worry about you at all now. You’ve now developed the lean and reach, so you go forwards and onto your hands and knees and have a little wiggle there. You’ve not quite managed to crawl forward yet but we have gone backwards this week. You are still getting a little frustrated when you get on to your tummy, but I can see you are slowly working it all out and I don’t think it’ll be long until you’re properly on the move. You can bring your knees up and slightly move your arms, then you flatten out and try again, so that seems to be the way your moving yourself at the moment.
You absolutely love jumping up the stairs, so every night when we go up for a bath we let you bounce your way up. It’s so funny watching your little legs jump out to the side. But more recently you have shown lots of interest in actually climbing the stairs. So today I helped you a little bit, but you were pretty good at getting the idea of what goes where and how to do it. Which leads me on to your climbing, not only are you attempting the stairs but you are now so busy climbing up anything and anyone you can. You’ve worked out how to pull yourself up things now and then get up onto your feet. It’s so cute watching your little face light up when you finally get up.
So sleeping and napping…I’d say napping is pretty predictable and we’ve managed to get you in a really good routine. I say we, but I think you have done that all yourself. You wake up around 6.30/7am and then by 9am you are ready to go back to bed. You normally have about 1.5/2 hours sleep at this time so wake up around 11am ish, which is wonderful for me as I get loads of time to do jobs etc. Then about 1/1.30pm you’re ready to go back to sleep again, sometimes you’ll have another 2 hours sometimes only an hour, but it’s again another good amount of time for me to get on with things. Both these sleeps are normally in your bed as I think you get the best sleep in there and at the moment the weather is so gross it’s nice that your cosy and comfy in your bed. Then your last sleep of the day can be from around 4.30pm to 5.30pm and it can be for an hour or 20mins. But we’re happy for it to be anything as it juts helps you get through to bed time a little better. Then by 7pm you are totally ready for bed! Unfortunately sleep in the nighttime isn’t quite as predictable at the moment. Whether you’re developing bad habits or those nasty teeth are causing some issues we don’t tend to have two nights the same. Sometimes you’ll wake up around 10pm and not be able to settle until you’ve had milk, then other nights you’ll sleep through until 12.30pm and wake for milk. We’ve had nights where you’ve woken literally every two hours and nights where we’ve had only two wake ups. I don’t think you necessarily need milk but it helps you settle and for those 10minutes when we sit in the dark cuddling together I don’t mind it at all. Those moments aren’t going to last forever so I’m cherishing them now.
You absolutely love food and have done for a while now. We are just starting to pick up the BLW a little more now as you are showing real interest in it all. So far you have tried Cucumber sticks, carrot sticks, wholemeal toast with coconut oil (which is your favourite), wholemeal pitta, cheese, which you are loving, pepper, scrambled egg, avocado, broccoli, and ham. Along with all that you are still having three meals. So porridge and milk in the morning, then a pouch and some bits from above for lunch and then for tea you have another pouch with some porridge or yoghurt for pudding, also tend to give you a little something from our plates if I can.
I’ve written another post all about our journey with BLW, so we can find out more over there!
Teething…The dreaded teeth!! We are definitely in full swing of the journey. It’s such a blumin’ nightmare, but you are doing great. You don’t complain too much at all and when you do get a little naggy and upset calpol and teething gels sort you right out. There’s still no sign of any peggies but the gums are getting noticeably bumpier. I’m hoping the first one will pop through in the next month or so!
We’re in age 6-9month clothing and if were not quick you’ll be out of them before we know it and there will be loads you won’t have worn. I only have to wash and dry things once and your nearly out of it. It’s crazy to think how tall you are getting so quickly. It doesn’t seem two minutes ago you were our little newborn baby boy! You are practically out of size 4 nappies, I’m just waiting to finish the load we’ve got before we buy size 5! Those little chunky legs need a little more room ahah
This little hat was bought for you by your Aunty Han! Little yoda! hahaha
Bathtime…always a winner. Really no matter what mood your in, we pop you in the bath and you absolutely love it. You splash away, soaking yourself and find it so funny. It’s even more hilarious when Betsie does it to you, she splashes away making funny noises at you and you copy her laughing your little head off! It’s so cute. You really aren’t phased by water going in your face at all, which is great and totally what we want.
So I think that’s about everything you’ve been upto and he’s some more gorgeous photos of you!
You’ve started to love Thomas the tank! haha This is you watching it the other morning.
Love you so much Pudding pie! xXx
