If you know Bodie you’ll know he is a right dribbler and always has been. Over the past month or so I’d say it noticeably got worse and worse, probably because he has started teething, blowing raspberries and putting everything he comes into contact with straight in his mouth. This meant that we were going through about 10 or more bibs a day, it was becoming ridiculous and I was constantly buying new bibs to build up the collection as I couldn’t wash them fast enough! Not only that but his chest was starting to get sore due to his clothes being wet because the bibs we were using weren’t holding the dribble well enough and it was just soaking straight through onto his clothes and sitting on his skin.
I don’t think it was bothering him much as we would layer it up with barrier creams etc but the redness was nasty and causing me concern. We were bought some more bibs with a water proof backing and as much as these started to save his chest the top layer of the bib was quite harsh and started rubbing his chin, so that was also becoming pretty red and rashy! The whole situation was just getting worse until I came across Zippy bibs.
I was at a Christmas event when I saw the stall. Initially I wasn’t sure they were for us because I wasn’t a major fan of the bandana style bib. I always found that they rose up to his mouth and then just became super saturated in record time. However these were different, I tried one on him to check how they sat, and thanks to a clever pattern they sit and stay right under their chins and don’t ride up at all. Not only that but they have the most amazing backing. It’s super soft and fleecy which creates a lovely padded lining which the dribble doesn’t seem to get through at all. They come in a varying thickness too! I bought a four pack of the normal absorbency bibs just to see how we got on initially.
Straight away I could’t fault them. The designs were lovely and they were doing the jobs fantastically! I was then very kindly sent another two, this time of the super absorbency and they are totally amazing and have really started to save Bodies chest. Because we were still going through 100 bibs a day I decided to purchase another four, so I now have four super absorbent and six normal. I would highly recommend them if you have a dribbler because they are brilliant. They have been very comfortable and easy to wear. They come in so many different patterns and colours, you’re spoilt for choice and they are very reasonably priced for how fantastic they are.
Here’s some gorgeous pictures of my boy wearing them and the bibs themselves!
