As a Mummy I don’t really use my special make up items that much as I don’t really ever go out, but following my everyday make up post I said I would write about a few little things that I really love.
Lets start with my new face cream – Dr Organic Snail Gel. Yes that’s right snail gel! Mum had heard about it through a friend and decided to buy it for me for Christmas. I absolutely love it, it’s quite strange to think that you are putting snail gel on your face, but combined with your daily/nighty moisturiser it feels so lovely. Here’s what Holland and Barrett say about it….
‘Dr. Organic Snail Gel is an innovation in skincare, boasting a remarkable range of anti-aging benefits. This moisturising, soothing gel combines the unique properties of Helix Aspersia Muller with organic Aloe Vera and a blend of bioactive ingredients to soothe and hydrate the skin. Naturally produced by the snail to quickly regenerate its own shell and skin when damaged. Free from all petro-chemicals and harsh additives which strip the skin of valuable moisture causing long-term damage. Discovered by chance by snail farmers in Chile, the unique healing and powers of the snail’s slime were found to leave hands incredibly soft and hydrated whilst healing minor cuts and scars unusually quickly. Laboratory analysis found that the secretions contained high levels of naturally occurring allantoine, collagen, elastin and anti-bacterial substances that all have beneficial healing, smoothing and purifying effects on human skin. Available exclusively at Holland & Barrett, Dr Organic Snail Gel is effective in softening wrinkles, smoothing skin and scar reduction.’
Another gift this christmas was my Younqiue Moodstruck 3D fibre lashes. I have read/heard some really mixed reviews about this product, but I have only found it to be absolutely amazing. I have always had pretty short eyelashes, another hurdle when trying to find a good mascara and brush, but with this clever new product that doesn’t matter. The idea is that the final look is like false eyelashes without all the glue and faffing.
It comes in a very smart box, not something you get with a normal mascara and inside you get two mascara type brushes, one containing a sealing gel and the other tiny black fibres that stick to your lashes. It’s very simple to apply and you can build the fibres up to your desired length. A single coat of your own mascara, covered in the gel then the fibres and a final coat of sealant and you’re good to go, well unless you want super long lashes, in which case you redo the seal and fibre coats until happy. Reviews have warned people to be really careful when applying the fibres as some people have got them in their eyes, which doesn’t seem to be the most comfortable thing. I however love them and have never had a problem with them.
My foundation – Like I’ve said before I don’t wear this everyday and I feel really done up when I do wear it. It’s Bobbi Browns Luminous moisturising foundation in Beige. I love this foundation, it isn’t heavy like I thought a foundation would be, it also has a beautiful glow to it. I also find that it lasts for a really long time, which when you’re wearing it for a special occasion is really important.
Another lovely little product I have recently added to my makeup box is this Urban Decay Flushed palette. A really lovely product which includes bronzer, blusher and a highlighter.
If you want to know anything more about any of the products I use, please don’t hesitate to ask!
